Sade Atkinson
GENERAL MANAGER
(she/her)Sade's passion for agriculture began on her family's farm in New Zealand, where she cared for an assortment of livestock and vegetable gardens. Sade arrived in New Orleans as a student at Tulane University and spent four years as a tennis captain before graduating in 2018 with a B.S. in Public Health.
Sade has worked with various charitable and nonprofit organizations, including the SAAC, Louisiana Special Olympics, and A's and Aces. She also has years of mentorship experience and formal agriculture experience, leading to her current position as Sugar Roots Farm's General Manager.

Lauren Hunt
ANIMAL HUSBANDRY AND GARDEN MANAGER
(she/her)Lauren is a Gulf South native and 17th-generation Louisianan with eight years of formal agricultural experience and five years of experience as an educator, which she applies as manager of the farm's daily operations. Lauren's approach to small-scale farming is holistic. She draws information from various sources, including indigenous, biodynamic, and Korean Natural methods.
